Temporary membership can be granted in case of research purposes only. To apply for temporary membership email firstname.lastname@example.org providing:
- More details about your research;
- The resources you intend to use (please search our library catalogue);
- The period of your planned visit.
The maximum length of the membership is three months, renewable, and access can be limited to off-peak times (after 19:00 during the week, all day weekends and during vacation).

UG and PGT students from institutions not part of the University of London network may be eligible for temporary membership, for more information please visit our Other visitors webpage.
24/7 access restrictions
Due to increased demand for study spaces and resources by our staff and students, access to the Mile End Library will be restricted during the examination period between Monday 17 April to Friday 26 May inclusive. Please note that access at our Whitechapel and West Smithfield libraries remain unaffected.
Existing membership will be temporarily suspended and new membership applications will not be processed during this time.
